JHIRNA FOREST LODGE

This rest house lies just inside the southern boundary of the Park. The Jhirna Forest Rest house lies on the road from Ramnagar to Kalagarh that runs in an east-west direction through the Park. The landscape is drier than in Dhikala and vegetation is mostly scrub. Jhirna was a farming village until 1994 when it was successfully relocated under Project Tiger. The abandoned farmland is gradually reverting to a wild state and is being managed to develop grassland habitat. The nearby terrain consists of numerous sots and narrow gorges running through typically Shiwalik landscape. The hills to the north of Jhirna are covered with dense patches of bamboo. Apart from being a good habitat for tiger, leopard and deer, the place hosts other interesting mammals like sloth bear and wild boar. A variety of birds can also be enjoyed here.

There is only one forest lodge in the Jhirna zone with 4 rooms which are available for tourists to stay at night. But one can book a maximum of 2 rooms at a time for a maximum of 3 nights at a stretch. All the rooms have a double bed in it with having an attached bathroom. However, the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are clean, but you will get a very little facility in the room. So, if you are looking for a luxurious holiday then it is not for you. This forest guest house is an ideal accommodation for true wildlife enthusiasts who can stay in the jungle with a minimum of facilities. There is no electricity here except solar electricity for limited use.

Advance booking of Jeep Safari in Jim Corbett National Park is available for both morning and evening in Bijrani, Jhirna and Durgadevi Zones. The Booking is on an

Online Advance booking serve basis and a non-refundable advance needs to be deposited with complete details of the person. For advance booking a photo id for Indian Nationals and Passport Details of Foreign Nationals is mandatory.

Photo Id:- Driving License/ Voter Id / Pan card is required. One can send us the id number, date of birth, full name and gender, date of expiry of the ID for booking. While traveling the guest will have to carry the same ID.

Passport Details:- Passport Number, Full Name & Gender, Date of Issue and expiry, date of Birth, Nationality is required for Advance Bookings of Morning & Afternoon jeep safari Advance booking Safari is can be done one month in advance. However, it is advisable to place the application to the forest department the moment you decide about the safari for better chances of confirmation.

Booking Proceedure

1. Names, Age, gender and id proof no. (Driving license / PAN card / Voter ID / passport ) of every person is required.
2. 50% Amount of total package cost, so that the application can be submitted.
3. Availability of rooms shall be confirmed 40 days prior to the date of arrival.
4. Balance payment to be deposited once we confirm the availability.
5. In case of non availability of rooms, advance payment will be refunded.
5. We are only making reservations for the rest house. We are not responsible for quality of services at the rest house which are operated by the forest department.

About FRH

There is only one forest lodge in the Jhirna zone with 4 rooms which are available for tourists to stay at night.
1. Other than Dhikala & Gairal forest rest house, all the rest houses are do not have electricity. Power is provided by generators up till 10 pm.
2. Dhikala zone has its 4 rest houses, Dhikala, Gairal, Sarapduli & Sultan
3. Bijrani zone has two rest houses, bijrani and malani
4. There is option of dormitory available at gairal, Dhikala and bijrani rest house. In case some one is looking for economical option, dormitory can be provided.
